Dr. Arne Vandenbogaerde

Bio

Arne Vandenbogaerde is the programme coordinator of the Research Networking Programme Beyond Territoriality: Globalization and Transnational Human Rights Obligations (GLOTHRO - www.glothro.org) and was at the start of this project a doctoral candidate at the Law and Development research group at the Faculty of Law. His main research interests include international human rights law, in particular economic, social and cultural rights and the issue of extraterritorial and transnational human rights obligations. 

Arne Vandenbogaerde will perform a case study on the Human Rights Council in the framework of WP2 ‘User Trajectories’. The objective of the research is to map the existing channels through which local communities can get access to the HRC and secondly to investigate whether such “input from below/local cases” influence the working/output of the HRC.  The idea is to identify one case that looks like a good practice in this regard, and then to critically review the case in depth
