Dr. Rachel Hammonds


Rachel Hammonds is a post-doctoral researcher in the Law and Development Research Group of the Law Faculty at the University of Antwerp. She is a licensed attorney with a Doctorate in Medical Sciences from the Vrije Universiteit of Brussels. Her research focuses on the intersection between international human rights law, global health and  development. Her current research focuses on the local relevance of human rights law. 

Dr Hammonds is the project manager for the University of Antwerp’s engagement in the IAP. She coordinates contributions from Work Package 2, which comprises mainly empirical research in China, India and the Democratic Republic of Congo, examining how rights holders navigate through the complex architecture of human rights law.
