Prof. Paul De Hert


Paul De Hert is an international fundamental rights expert. His work is devoted to human rights law, constitutionalism in an historical perspective, technology and criminal law. He is interested both in legal practice and more fundamental reflections about law. At Brussels, Paul De Hert holds the chair of ‘Criminal Law & International and European Criminal Law’ and ‘Historical introduction to eight major constitutional systems’.

He is involved in WP6 (divergence and coherence) as co-promoter of the research of Derek Inman "Indigenous' peoples' rights to traditional lands, territories and resources: a comparative view from the various human rights systems" and in WP7 (crimes against humanity) as promoter of the research of Mathias Holvoet "Clarifying the grey zone between internal human rights abuses and crimes against humanity".
