Prof. Sébastien Van Drooghenbroeck
Sébastien Van Drooghenbroeck is full-time professor at the Law Faculty of the Saint-Louis University, Brussels, and co-director of the Centre interdisciplinaire de recherches en droit constitutionnel et administratif (CIRC). He teaches Sources and Principles of Law, Constitutional Law and International and European Human Rights Law. He is also Assessor at the Council of State of Belgium (since 2011). The research and the main publications of Professor Van Drooghenbroeck cover, among others, the Law of the European Convention on Human Rights and the Belgian Constitutional Law.
Professor Van Drooghenbroeck is one of the promoters of the IAP “The Global Challenge of Human Rights Integration: Towards a Users’ Perspective”. He is promoter of the PhD research of Olivier Van der Noot (WP4 – Do we need an National Bill of Rights ?) and co-promoter of the PhD research of Marijke De Pauw (WP3 - Bridges Between Different Layers of Human Rights Law/ Building new rights on an integrated reading of existing sources: The case of the rights of the elderly) and Thea Staes (WP3 - Bridges Between Different Layers of Human Rights Law/The use of “external sources of Law” by the European Court of Human Rights).
